WINTER HEARTS CONTEST

is holding a Winter Hearts competition. The deadline is Dec 5th, so there's still plenty of time to send something in. Prizes include a one year subscription, journal features, a print and a stamp.

I think is a great theme for a contest and very fitting for the time of the year, but I'm still trying to find a great idea. I want to be creative, not submit something someone has done before. I love winter, so now that I have more free time, I should be able to enter.

On another note, I'm enjoying my new features here. I already designed the looks of my journal and I'm currently working on the CSS. I love working with CSS, so it's really fun for me. I am always looking for excuses to improve my skills on this. I also started to collect stamps.

And I can also show you the things I liked around here. So, here we go...

I am so happy. I entered Swirls contest a while ago and today I found a note saying that I won! So now I have a 3 months subscription. I am jumping around. Thank you Jenni!

(You can tell I haven't won too many contests... lol)

On another note, work as been crazy on me, thus I hadn't had any time for myself, not even to take out my camera and go out to take some photos. On one hand it's a good thing because it means that business is taking off, but on the other my gallery is suffering. xD

I hope to be back on the creative deviant side again soon.

After this quick update, I'll go back to... surprisingly... work... ^^

In the middle of my next vector (which should take a couple of more weeks... who made me go for a barroque vector theme???), I am dusting off my manipulation skills. Most of the time, I do manipulations and such for work, in really non interesting pieces. so, it's good to do it for oneself for a change.

So, as a way to find some inspiration, I joined . I think it's fun and the best of it is that it has different categories, so you can submit your art according to the level you think you have or you are more comfortable in. So, there's no excuse for beginners to send submissions! ^_^

FRIENDS AND GROUPS AND THINGS I WATCH

Oh, my! Just 17 days to my birthday... and I still don't know how to celebrate.

In addition, I have a sister moving to another country to study for some years, only two days away from my birthday. Which makes me sad, I will miss her. But, I am also happy for her. So, yes, strangely I'm happy and sad at the same time. Human emotions... ::sighs::

Because of that I am working on a photo album for her with lots of pictures of the places she loves so she can take her city anywhere she goes. ^.^

I am using my old Canon EOS500 (she's almost 10 years old and I still love it like the first day). I wish I could have a digital one (already saving for it but it's kinda too expensive and I don't have "saving skills" so it will take some time ), but even then I will still love this old 35mm one.

By the way, the place I am studying photography in is editing a magazine, and I got to be in charge of designing. It's a lot of work, but I am happy with it. The first issue is out on pdf format for now (they will be printing it in the near future) on their website.

That kept me running behind collaborators that didn't hand over their material in time. I already started to threaten them... next time I won't publish anything they don't deliver in time!! hahaha

I will be uploading more photos, but vectors are still coming (I have so much fun with those).

I am happy I already finished the deviation I uploaded today. It was a nice learning experience and I like how it turned out. Last one was a heart, this time is a bride. Yes, I am in love. Maybe that's it... ^_^

This days I am very excited about my photography courses. Next week we start with the lab (I forgot all I have learned about it so it's like starting over again), and I can't wait for that!

Tomorrow is father's day here and I still have problems with something I was making for my dad. I hope I can fix it before tomorrow. :S
